Checkmate is a game made in Unity for mobile phones. Where you play as a the King piece navigating though levels avoiding traps, and enemies.
Where the enemies move as their respective chess pieces.
For example Towers can only go straight, bishops only diagonally and pawns can only move forwards and turns around when it hit a wall, while also only being able to attack diagonally.
During the development I worked with the two different traps we have, spikes and buzz saw.
I worked with making the moving tiles and making sure things on it moves with them, as well as the enemies, such as the Rooks movement, making sure the Pawn attacks as it should. I also worked on the tutorial popups, adding sounds to the game and the end of level script.
For debugging and optimizations I also made an FPS counter which we could see live on the Tablet & Phones when we were testing.
